Leah Purcell AM (born 1970) is an Indigenous Australian actress, director and writer. She is a Helpmann Award and AACTA Award winner.
Leah is also a director and writer.
Leah has also appeared in Redfern Now, Love Child, Janet King and many more.
Leah also wrote and directed a movie based on a play titled The Drovers Wife: The Legend of Molly Johnson which released in 2022. Leah won an AACTA award for Best Actress in a Film for The Drovers Wife.
Purcell played Rita Connors in Wentworth from season 7 to 8.
Purcell in 2021 was awarded with a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to performing/youth and culture.
