Gary Doyle was Franky Doyle's brother who visits her in Wentworth.
Gary tells Franky that he has found work at a farm and he wants Franky to behave so they can be together and work on the farm.
Gary is later killed in a freak tractor accident and when Franky gets a telegram to tell her that he is critical.
Franky can't read it until Karen reads the letter. Franky visits him in hospital too late to see him alive one last time.
